HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical is coming to The Hideout August 24-26. Who’s ready to let the sun shine in? The Hideout is staging a five-performance production of HAIR - The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical on August 24th, 25th and 26th. The 1967 musical tells the story of “the tribe”: a group of bohemian, long-haired hippies opposing the Vietnam War draft during the Age of Aquarius in New York City. Our Chicago production features a diverse cast and crew handpicked from a wide pool of Chicago musicians, actors and ‘general fun’ enthusiasts. Bobby Conn, Musical Director leads a live ‘pit band’ featuring: Ronnie Kuller (Mucca Pazza, Ami Saraiya & The Outcome, Daniel Knox) Paul Brannon (Mucca Pazza, Ssion) Paul Parts (Daniel Knox) Producers Kate Urcioli (Little Shop of Horrors) and Rob Allen (The Encyclopedia Show), along with director Sarah Ann Giocomo and Assistant Director Gabriel Wallace (Chicago comedic-poetry enigma, Mahjongg, Relevant Hairstyles) lead a cast of local improvisers and musical theater veterans, including: Seth Dodson (Seth & Kellen, NEDTalks, Show N’ Tell Show) Sara Jean Stevens (BLEACHED) Laura Pearson (Chicago culture writer: Punk Planet, Pitchfork, TimeOut Chicago) Brittny Congleton (Storytown at iO) Tickets are on sale now on hideoutchicago.com.
