Mit I took your name im Gepäck kommt uns Harmen ( Frontmann von Town of Saints) im Juli besuchen und es verspricht ein herzhafter abend zu werden. Der Eintritt ist wie immer FREI, es geht ein Hut rum. Start: ca. 20.30 Uhr. Info: Two troubadours from the northern city of Groningen (the Netherlands) are teaming up for a tour through Germany. A unique combination of singer-songwriters featuring a mix of unbridled folk punk and intricate indie songs. Both have a talent to capture the audience in their own way, with just one guitar and their songs. Town of Saints ( Solo ) As front man of the energetic indie folk band Town of Saints, Harmen Ridderbos likes to completely undress the band’s songs, turn them upside down and play them all on his own, without losing any of the uncurbed energy the full band displays.The style of the band is often called a mix between Arcade Fire, Fleet Foxes and everything in between,but as a solo artist, Harmen could be compared to songwriters such as Chuck Ragan or Frank Turner. All that Audiotransparent and Kendler guitar player Chris van der Ploeg came up with was songs. He christened his project I Took Your Name, the name borrowed from an R.E.M. song. The very first I Took Your Name release is called Bayonet EP. Released in December 2012. It features 4 intimate songs on which Chris performs most of the instruments himself, accompanied by Audiotransparent bandmate Andreas on violin and producer Corno on synths.
