Join the Stony Brook Chamber Ensemble presenting The Parhelion Trio at Three Village Church on Saturday May 14 at 7:30pm! Works by Jennifer Higdon, Philip Glass, Paul Schoenfield, Derek Bermel, Sunny Knable, Claude Debussy, and more! The Parhelion Trio –Sarah Carrier (flute), Ashleé Miller (clarinet), and Andrea Christie (piano)– made their national debut at the 2014 National Flute Convention in Chicago, where they performed multiple concerts featuring works by living American composers. Parhelion Trio, a New York City based and all-female ensemble, has performed recitals at a variety of venues including: National Sawdust, The Firehouse Space, Mannes College The New School for Music, Brooklyn Conservatory, CUNY’s The Graduate Center, and Brooklyn Music School. The group was additionally featured on a concert series at the Southampton Cultural Center and regularly participates in the annual Make Music New York program. Parhelion Trio is dedicated to connecting diverse audiences through innovative programming. Parhelion regularly collaborates with living composers to create new works that explore the ensemble’s unique potential while incorporating original arrangements from the canonical repertoire. The result is a vibrant atmosphere rich with lyric poignancy and rhythmic vitality that is compelling to a wide variety of audiences.
