Opera makes a glorious return to the Hertz Hall stage this month in a one-night-only production of Henry Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas", featuring a modern take on the classic tragic love story from Virgil's Aeneid. This UC Berkeley Department of Music production features UC Berkeley graduate Vanessa Aldrich and junior Max Epstein-Shafir in the title roles, and is conducted by Stefano Flavoni. This performance is made possible due to extensive collaboration and assistance by the UC Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Chorus of the University of California, and University Baroque Ensemble. This performance is FREE, but a $10 donation is recommended.
