The UCT Student FSI hosts: George Branch (Emeritus Professor of Zoology): - EVOLUTION: Scientific Advances and Appropriate Religious Responses The event is a response to John Lennox's lectures that take place this week at UCT, with many faith-based societies preparing for his arrival already: Student Y posted this on Facebook: "To give us a little teaser for what's to come next week with John Lennox's talks at The Open Secret on UCT Upper Campus, come to a dvd debate screening between him and atheist, Christopher Hitchens, in Leslie Social 2D at 18:45. Going to be a legit vibe with a total of 8 other Christian societies on campus. Come through! :)"... As a society that promotes secular values, enlightenment principles and rational discourse we support Lennox's right to freedom of speech. This said - Lennox should not leave our unchallenged- especially a campus that operates, for the most part, by secular principles. George Branch was head of Zoology at UCT and emeritus professor.
