ACCESSORY (A GUN FAD) Dates: November 4th - December 4th, 2016 Opening Reception: Friday, November 4th (first friday), 6:00-9:00pm Curatorial Statement: ACCESSORY (A GUN FAD) presents eight artists working in a range of mediums with means of critiquing and reflecting on gun culture in the States. Aspects of photography, textile, sculpture, found/collected, and social practices are utilized to present contemporary views on accessory trends occurring in a range of diverse groups. In the show, no one perspective is intended to over step aspects of community or individual experiences that have been witnessed and or felt. The work presented hopes to respectfully elaborate and open a venue of conversation that hones in on an abstract of situations behind violence and its gun course taking place in the country. ACCESSORY (A GUN FAD) intends to shine light on past, present, and continuous events to find an understanding behind where such acts may come from, currently are confined to, and where it may dissolve. This show is curated by George P.
