VISIT THE MOUNT WASHINGTON WEEKEND FACEBOOK PAGE IN MEMORY OF GERRY POMERLEAU Gerry Pomerleau was a retired fireman from Dracut Mass. He joined the NHATV Club in 1999 and soon became a Director. Gerry was the founder of the Mt. Washington Auto Road Ride. In the year 2000, the 1st year, the numbers were small but increased over the years as it became more publicly known by ATV enthusiasts. Sunset rides were available in the early years but didn't prove to be popular. He was a big drive in the early years of the club. Some remember Gerry's trailer- it was a 25ft maroon enclosed trailer with a large mural on each side showing a Polaris on top of a mountain out west somewhere. Gerry loved to travel. As a group we went to such places as up state Maine, Canada, Vermont, Mass, New Hampshire, West Virginia, (to ride the Hatfield and McCoy Trails) and as far west as Utah. (For the Rocky Mt. ATV Jamboree) He was always ready for a trip no matter where it took us. Through the years Gerry put in many hours helping the club grow and expand and was always there to help. He helped promote and maintain the positive image of our club and sport. Gerry made many friends through the years and his memory will live on forever. He would be proud to know the Mt. Washington Auto Road Ride is in its 13th season - a small part of his legacy. Gerry spent many years battling scleroderma but he kept riding until he could no long get on his Polaris. He stayed active in the club for as long as he could and succumbed to his disease on January 11th 2011. "Thanks for starting the Mt. Washington Auto Road Ride now known as the Gerry Pomerleau Memorial Ride, Gerry." Your buddy, Buddy Dionne. MOUNT WASHINGTON RIDE RULES FOR 2014 Hours of Operation: 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.)
