To sign up, or if you have any questions,write to [email protected] In this course we will be covering: • Basic puppetry skills including stance, eye focus, mouth synch, walks, rod manipulation and more. • Working with scripts • Improvised scenes • Working with the monitor • Working with human actors • Character building • Vocal Characterization ….and more. Everyone who participates will be provided with "practice eyes" and a hand made, professional-style practice puppet that are theirs to keep! **If you are considering taking this course you want to be sure you will have some time for practicing at home throughout the week. The learning comes from the class but the skill comes from the practicing! About the Instructor: David has been in immersed in puppetry since 1993 when he began training with master puppeteer Paul Vincent Davis of the Puppet Showplace Theatre in Brookline, MA. David continued his studies by spending two years as apprentice to Nikki Tilroe of The Palm of the Hand Stories Company and attending performance workshops with The Jim Henson Company. Shortly after, he was cast in the title role in Bear in the Big Blue House, Live!, a national tour based on the hit Disney Chanel program by Mitchell Kriegman and the Jim Henson Company. After 18 months on the road David settled in Brooklyn, NY. Since then he has performed on Comedy Central, MTV, CBS, National Public Television and Atom.com, among others. Further credits include the Trilobite Pictures short film “Edgar Allan Poe’s The Raven” and “Seemore’s Playhouse” by King Features/S4K Entertainment. David has built puppets for Avenue Q, Comedy Central, MTV, CBS, FunnyOrDie.com, Staler and Waldorf: From the Balcony, Disneyland and more. Recently, David starred with Jon Gabrus, Peter Bradley, Rachel Bloom, Joseph R. Gannascoli and Jackie The Joke Man Martling in “The Fuzz”, a web series by 3 Arts Entertainment/Greencard Pictures/Vuguru that can now be seen Yahoo Screen. www.BrooklynPuppetConspiracy.com
