Ron Pattinson is the author of "The Homebrewer's Guide To Vintage Beer" and the man behind the blog "Shut Up About Barclay Perkins." He is the leading authority on many historical beer styles, most prominently English Mild Ale. At 3:00pm on Saturday June 6th The Hog's Apothecary will welcome Ron for a talk and tasting of three of our favorite CA-brewed takes on the style. The idea is reintroduce homebrewers and beer-drinkers alike to a near-forgotten style that we think is primed for a renaissance. We will have one of the world's leading authorities on the style in our midst and we will be presenting the beers alongside two classic delicacies of the beer style's homeland, namely cheddar and oysters. The event will feature mild ales from Freewheel Brewing Company, Magnolia Gastropub & Brewery, and Eagle Rock Brewery poured alongside three California Cheddar style cheeses and/or a platter of Tomales Bay Oysters.
