Prolific writer, professor, filmmaker, film critic, and art critic CHRIS KRAUS will be reading some of her own work, followed by an opportunity to ask her questions and converse. Chris Kraus wrote her first book, “I Love Dick” in 1997, which smashed the wall that separates privacy from expression and fiction from reality. Since then, she has written several published books, most recently Summer of Hate (2012), taught as a professor at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland, received awards for her work as an art critic, and written articles for various magazines. Index Magazine has called her “one of the most subversive voices in American fiction.” This event will take place in room 912 of the NYU Kimmel Center for Student Life, located at 40 Washington Square South. The event is on Wednesday, September 18th at 7:30 PM. Open to NYU students and the general public. Bring student or government-issued ID. FREE.
