First set at 7 pm is an exciting new music duo that features composer/performers Salvatore Macchia Contrabass, and Jazer Giles electronics. Its repertoire is made up of pieces for solo bass, bass and synthesized sound, bass and live electronics, and bass live electronics and interactive video. Second set at 8.30 pm presents new music by Lena Bloch, Russ Lossing and Billy Mintz. Dave Wayne in All About Jazz writes: "it's a vital statement and a fresh take on an approach to jazz improvisation that has never really gotten its due. In its own understated way, the playing here is perhaps more edgy and radical than what's found on most avant-jazz offerings."
